Top food top staff top views of the sea it is a all round good place to be a place to take your dogs and family and enjoy good food and Company love it
Secondhand smoke from patio area stinking out main room. Far to noisy with barking dogs and screaming out if control children running around. Slow service. Staff with long hair not properly tied back . Male server picking nails in view. Female staff seem sucking fingers. So poor hygiene lots jewelery on display on staff.staff struggling to find tables for orders. Arrived at 6 and was still waiting for food at 7.15 food was big portions but not great. gluten allergy question was not followed up . Staff spent all time chating and no customer engagment. Will not be recommending or going back. Stuffed baby badger on entry desk was quite disturbing to see prefer my badgers alive. Seating is hard wooden chairs.
What a great find 😄We found this by chance when searching for restaurants that were local to our caravan site.We booked for a table of 11, majority of the group went for the carvery option which was 10/10 lots of meat choices (Lamb, Pork and Turkey) the chef was generous with portions and couldn't have been more helpful. There was stuffing, cauliflowercheese, roasted veg and Yorkshire puddings! The other members of the group went for menu options which were just as tasty. The food was served promptly and hot and the staff were very attentive. The prices were reasonable and fair for the quality of food!If by chance we are ever back in Weymouth it will be at the top of our list of places to visit. It was a busy Sunday lunch so recommend booking. Thank you too all the Fat Badger team 💕
Great views and service. Good selection of beers/ciders. Food was average.
Was lat weekend and I was very treat bead .Service is a big disappointment 👎👎👎👎👎Food is not a big deal normalOverall nothing special
A lovely place to sit outside and enjoy the views over the Wyke.Staff were very friendly and the food was nice. You don't have to be staying at the caravan park to eat there.A place to return to for sure.
Great views, great staff, really enjoyed our carvery! The garden area is very nice, you might even see some alpacas! Well worth the price!
This is a little gem of a restaurant.its set in beautiful surroundings. The service is very good. Would definitely recommend.
Just a cpl of coffees today - first visit - staff friendly, dog friendly and the views superb. Carvery looks scrumptious - next time!
Beautiful View of Chesil beach & countryside, unfortunately that’s where it ends , booked a table with my parents for the carvery, overcooked meat, under seasoned, dehydrated vegetables at the start of lunch service . For people with no taste buds .Dreadful.Steer clear.
What a hidden gem - never knew it existed until it was recommended. My Mom was visiting, so my wife and I took her there for lunch. It was a beautiful spring day, so sat outside on the veranda - stunning panoramic views from Portland to West Bay, along Chesil Beach. The food was excellent with great service. Beware, the portions are huge - even the food on the Kiddies menu was of ma-hussive proportions. Highly recommended
Having tried many places in and around Weymouth for Sunday lunch, The Fat badger is the best.Superb meal, top quality and the staff are attentive and polite. Waiting for them to open in February so we can book another lunch
This was a great surprise while visiting family in Weymouth. We went in for the breakfast but unfortunately they just had stopped service, we stayed for an early lunch which was very well put, pretty and delicious. The place works as pub and is located on top of a hill where you have great views.
No airs and graces just nice food served with a stunning view by friendly staff. Always busy for good reason
Had a lovely birthday meal last night. Food was excellent steak was cooked to perfection and the children menu was good too. staff were all friendly and helpful. Great evening
Lovely breakfast. Service great. Views amazing. Couldn't want anything more. Great place.
Great place to eat. Speedy and friendly service on an evening with three big groups in.
Stunning location and views, with good drinks, lovely food and pleasant service.
Best breakfast in weymouth and a bargain price .local food. Lovely atmosphere even if it's raining such a lovely place .All other food delicious we go as much as we can
We went for breakfast it was lovely so much on your plate and a drink for £8 bargain best in weymouth. Nice friendly staff and lovely atmosphere looking over the fleet even on a dull day .we will be back to try the fish and chips soon 😋
We looked-up best places to eat a Sunday roast online locally and this place had respectable reviews. We didn’t book and turned up unannounced just before 17:00 on a November Sunday. The welcome was pleasant and they offered us a table with brilliant views, it was our loss that it was starting to get dark. We both decided on the Sunday Carvery as we had spied it on the way to our table. The Service was friendly and swift. The Carvery is a help yourself affair (other than the selection of joints - Turkey, Beef, Pork), which I especially liked as I had two Yorkshire Puddings - A commodity which is all too often strictly policed in other restaurants. The food was hot and plentiful. My wife commented that the gravy was getting rather low, which the cook overheard and without any provocation, immediately offered to bring a gravy boat over to our table - I nearly put him on my Christmas Card list! I often say to my wife when eating out that I wish that more establishments would add a few extra £’s to the cost of the meal, but use better quality ingredients. I feel this was entirely the case here as the Stuffing was full of sausage meat and not sawdust, the roast potatoes were beautifully crisp, the dauphinoise potatoes were absolutely stunning and the parsnips were cooked in honey. Two completely empty plates tell their own story. I find it near impossible to get a Sunday Roast (cooked for the masses) to rival the quality of one you would spend all day cooking at home, but this is as close as you’re going to get. Our experience was excellent.
Large family meal. 4 children and 7 adults.Great food, good selection of veggies. Hot and tasty. We all had the Sunday carvery. The waitress's and gent serving the carvery all friendly. 100% recommend.
Had Roast dinner with my mom Dauphinoise potatoes We're not cooked raw potatoes and the pork woz fatty yes I no pork can be but this woz very fatty and told one young waitress and did not do any think about the potatoes then told what we Believed woz the Manager she got Chefs to Change them/take them off.
Just had lunch, the food and staff were excellent and the view is fantastic. I had the scallops and they were the best i have had for very long time, Much better then those from the Hatch/Catch (local restaurant)
Lovely views, you can eat inside or out. Dogs are welcome. Lovely food even for a fussy person like me.
On my week away at pebble bank. Always come here at least twice a year as its a very relaxing place. Arrived early on saturday morning , unloaded the car then straight to the badger for breakfast. It was quite busy & they found me a table to sit at. Ordered the large breakfast but had a rather long wait before it arrived. When it did it was worth it. Food was hot , perfectly cooked & a good portion. Staff were very friendly & attentive but had lots of customers to look after. Deffinately recomended.🙂👍
Brilliant evening celebrating 2 birthdays. Very friendly staff and lovely food
Slow service, lovely staff. Breakfast was ok but bacon undercooked and toast like concrete.
Attended Fat Badger yesterday (Fri) evening. It was bigger than I expected but still with a lot of atmosphere, fairly busy. We had booked and were told where our table was, we had to ask for a menu, we were left sometime before we placed our order and the food did take a little longer than you would expect. However my dirty burger was very impressive and very nice. My friend said his steak was also very nice and cooked to perfection. The staff and service really let the place down.I get they may have understaffed and on a busy night. It was a shame, it's such a lovely setting and the views spectacular.
Lovely food service as very slow though asked three times for the bill before it finally arrived
I had booked a table for Wednesday afternoon. The service was very friendly and nice. The view from the terrace is breathtaking. The food was delicious and the toilets were clean. Under the balcony there is a fence with 3 alpacas, very cute. The beach is about a 15-minute walk away. It is dog friendly.
Amazing service very friendly atmosphere, very welcoming, would like to see high chair for family with toddler
Great food, nice location and very dog friendly. Staff went out of their way to look after our nervous girl.
Food was lovely and good atmosphereStar rating dropped due to the fact both by kids had the exact same dish but they were served 20mins apart and that was only because of persistent reminding to staff...i believe if we hadnt said anything it wouldnt have been served at all.
Absolutely outstanding staff, and a beautiful view across the Fleet and back to Portland. The food was delicious and the only reason I have removed one star is that the burger brioche was crumbly and inedible, as if it had been frozen at some point. Buy better buns!
At the base of the holiday park with views over the beach, this is a great breakfast location. Quick service by smiley staff and good food.
It was a fabulous place. The food was delicious and the view whilst you ate was amazing, great staff
We went to this Restaurant on Saturday 29th June 2024The Pebble Bank Holiday Park including their Restaurant is so amazing, brilliant service etcWe went to this Holiday Park to celebrate a friend's Birthday with also members of her family joining us!!We recommend this Restaurant including the Holiday Park to all!!We look forward to coming again soon!!
We actually found this place by chance and we are so glad we did. It was lovely food in a beautiful setting with really helpful and tentative staff. We phoned ahead to ask if they had a highchair which they did and they were very friendly on the phone and extremely helpful. Once we got there we were seated straight away and asked if we wanted a drink. The service was quick but we didn't feel rushed. The food was fantastic. My husband got the pulled pork hotdog and loved it. I had a buffalo chicken burger which was delicious and our baby had a bowl of mushy peas. I would 100% go back again. Thank you. Puddings also good!
So we're locals and use the Fat Badger on a fairly regular basis, and even though it wasn't too busy this evening we had a few things we weren't happy about....first asked for some water which didn't arrive, second there was four men at one of the tables who were very loud and repeatedly used the 'F' word, but nothing was done by the staff, so that spoilt our evening , and lastly after finishing our mains we had our plates taken away, and were looking forward to pud/coffee however got so fed up of waiting we decided to leave.... admittedly we could have asked again for water, asked the table to lower and moderate their language and asked to see a sweet menu, but should we have to? We went there for our 46 wedding anniversary and the food was lovely, and we will be back, hopefully for a nicer time
We visited here while on holiday in the area and was recommended to try by a member of staff at the caravan site we were staying on, having been told about the gorgeous views and it was dog friendly(bonus for us!). On our first visit we both had the cider battered fish and chips and wow it was amazing! A really good sized portion and the batter on the fish was so crispy and tasty! Decided while we was there to book again for the next day (steak night) and this was also amazing and such a good deal! The steak was tender and cooked exactly how we asked for it. The views at this place just make it even more perfect. The staff are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them, they made us and our dog feel very welcome. I would highly recommend a visit here if your in the area.
Wonderful view over the Fleet Lagune and Chesil Beach. Good food, nice atmosphere.
Although located on a caravan park the reviews looked ok and said it had a lovely view so as it was a lovely evening I thought I would give it a try, The place looked ok from outside and on going inside and checking out the menu which didn't have a lot of choices I saw something I fancied straight away, chicken thighs with lemon and Jasmin rice. The view is visible from the whole place so we originally picked a seat inside but although only half full it quite noisy so decided to take a seat outside. If you sit inside it's waitress service if sitting outside you order yourself from the bar. Paid went outside about 5 mins later waitress came over to say what I wanted wasn't available, so disappointedly I chose Lasagne. Service was slow took 3/4 hour to get our food. The Lasagne was awful see picture it was made with what looked like pulled pork and only had one layer of pasta so it was like eating mush. I was going to tell the waitress but she never came back to check on us or was around when we left. So I have to deduct 1 point for lack of service, 1 point for horrible food, 1 point for long wait. 1 point for noisy inside. Consequently for me the only good thing about this place is the view. Won't be going back and I don't recommend it.
Very nice food when we visited in September 2022. Would highly recommend visiting
Love the Fat Badger and I’m a regular there. It’s the go to place for meeting my friends for coffee or lunch. The food is delicious especially the ploughman’s! Attentive and friendly staff and fab views. Dog friendly too which is a bonus!
We highly recommend going here for dinner. We were camping locally and found The Fat Badger on Google maps, I was glad I booked as being a slightly drizzly evening, I think everyone was in the same mind!I am plant based, and would like to commend the chef for serving the most delicious vegan Shakshouka, it was bursting with flavour and the vegetables cooked to perfection ~ thank you! When booking, the menu didn’t state any vegan options (I understand this is in progress) so if you’re looking for vegetarian or vegan options, contact them to see what’s available! The rest of my party had meat and fish dishes which they mentioned were equally delicious.
Excellent food and stunning views. I absolutely love their Ploughman's selection... I wish they would have it available all year round! The wait team is always very kind and attentive, but they do seem quite harried each time we've been there.
Amazing crab sandwich, even the salad dressing was yummy. The coffee was so good I had two. The place was busy with a Christmas party for about 30, but my meal only took 10 mins 😋
Amazing food, lovely polite and friendly staff who also accommodated food allergies. 100% recommend anyone to visit this restaurant.
What an amazing place! Beautiful views with a terrace and indoor space, full of quirky cute frases in the walls. It's quite popular so it takes a while to get your order but is worth the waiting, tasty, big portions and cheap prices.Dog friendly which is always a plus and the staff were friendly and efficient.I would recommend the place to anyone craving for an English breakfast and is not in a rush.
